Equinox is a delightful, yet dynamic duo, whose musical improvisations flow like rapid rivers, bubbling with adventure and spontaneity. At the root of the Equinox sound are the soulful and haunting melodies of Sri Chinmoy, an Indian composer of some 21,000 songs.

Equinox features two unique musicians, Premik Tubbs and Shambhu Vineberg, who perform together to express the joy of music. Equinox is an experience of total musical and spiritual freedom where the musicians blend and become one, and the music itself becomes a vehicle of pure light and inspiration.

Premik and Shambhu begin with a beautiful melody by Sri Chinmoy. Then they embark on an improvisational journey, always gently leading back to the original melody.

Premik, who has recorded with such greats as Mahavishnu John McLaughlin, Herbie Hancock, Whitney Houston and Narada Michael Walden, is known for his virtuosity on a variety of wind instruments. Shambhu, the other half of Equinox, is an accomplished studio guitarist who has recorded with Whitney Houston, written movie scores and commercials, and performed globally. Shambhu’s colorful chordal and powerful rhythmic textures elevate the music of Equinox in transcendent ways.

Equinox is, indeed, the heart’s soulful expression.

The Gandharva Loka orchestra and choir adds a symphonic sound to Sri Chinmoy’s pure and simple melodies. The group’s leader, Panchajanya Burri, is a classically trained guitarist from Zurich. The international orchestra and choir, which varies in size, features acclaimed musicians from Vienna, Salzburg, Munich, England and the United States.
