Face Yoga

Our faces say a lot about how we feel. When we pull up the corners of our mouths, we show the world we are pleased or happy. When we furrow our brows, we might show that we are concentrating or confused. We have more than 40 muscles in the area of the face, and about 20 of those muscles give us the power to smile, frown, show surprise, delight, concentration, confusion, and even sadness.

We put a lot of stock into working with the muscles of the limbs and torso, but how often do we intentionally work with the muscles of the face? How often do we even think of the muscles in our faces? Not very often, and, as a result, we create muscular habits that can pull our faces out of symmetry and even deepen the creases we call wrinkles.

Fortunately, we have the power to work these muscles and retrain them to support a symmetrical and youthful glow! We can even undo some of the visible signs of aging through regular yoga practice for the face.

Spend two hours with Lauren McLaren, learning about the anatomy of the face and neck and how to activate and rejuvenate the face we present to the world. We will explore an active practice to support the eyes and forehead, the mouth and the neck, and we’ll learn how facial massage can assist in keeping you looking as young as you feel.

$35 if registered by Saturday, 8/12; $40 after.
