Course Description
Help Friends, Family and Co-workers Reduce Stress
This 7-hour weekend intensive will be taught by Sujantra McKeever, founder of Pilgrimage of the Heart Yoga and author of Learn to Teach Meditation and Mindfulness, and Kelly Derouin, educator and co-author of Teaching Mindfulness to Children: A Practical Guide for Parents, Teachers, and Caregivers.
You will:
- Learn to use and teach meditation and mindfulness to find inner peace and clarity
- Learn to lead others in meditation and mindfulness practices
- Learn specific techniques for sharing mindfulness with children of all ages
- Learn to incorporate elements of meditation into daily living
- Understand the philosophical and scientific underpinnings of meditation
- Receive a certificate from Pilgrimage of the Heart Yoga
Over the course of the weekend you will learn to teach all the foundational forms of practice including guided visualization, the use of mantras, breath work, chanting, positive affirmations and movement meditations.
The training is based on Sujantra McKeever’s book: Learn to Teach Meditation and Mindfulness and Sujantra’s and Kelly’s book Teaching Mindfulness to Children: A Practical Guide for Parents, Teachers, and Caregivers.
The class includes discussion and practice teaching. On the first day of the training you will receive free copies of both books which come with all the scripting you will need to begin sharing immediately.
We also explore the use of journaling, mandalas and music as part of the meditation and mindfulness experience. We will practice teach and create teaching outlines for all of the various teaching opportunities you may encounter.
About the Instructors
Sujantra McKeever has taught meditation and mindfulness for over 40 years in over 20 different countries. He has also authored 7 books about eastern philosophy, success motivation and meditation. As the founder of Pilgrimage of the Heart Yoga in San Diego, Sujantra leads regular meditation classes, workshops and trainings for the community.
Kelly Derouin is an educator, author and teaches yoga and meditation at Pilgrimage of the Heart Yoga.
Prerequisites
A regular meditation practice is strongly encouraged but the instructors welcome everyone with enthusiasm for learning or teaching meditation.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made at least 14 days prior to the start of the training will receive a credit toward a future training, minus a $35 processing fee. The credit must be used within one year.
No refund or credit will be given for cancellations made less than 14 days prior to the start of the training.
We reserve the right to cancel the training. In the event that our training does not take place, all payments will be refunded within 10 days after what would have been the start of the program.
