Greetings Yogis!

Have you ever wondered how Cow Face Pose got its name? Did you ever twist your limbs into Eagle pose and wonder what about it was like an eagle? Have you ever thought about why yoga celebrates a fierce warrior like Virabhadra and a goddess adorned with skulls?

The myths and symbols found in yoga are like a bridge between our daily lives and the divine existence. As we come to discover this mythological terrain, we begin to travel across that bridge, learning as we go the deep philosophies and the rich texture of life that this practice illuminates.

Dive deep into the stories of yoga and begin to transform your relationship to yourself, your world and the divine. During this program, you will have the opportunity to blend asana practice (the poses), meditation and pranayama with activities designed to help you bring your yoga practice to life off your mat. We will create rituals, experiment with unplugging, cultivate mindfulness of food and diet, design our own mandalas, and create personalized myths in an effort to reveal how much yoga there is in our day-to-day lives.

You will:

    • Examine the myths and symbols found in yoga in relationship to everyday uses.
    • Dive into the deep philosophies of yoga and learn how these philosophies help to illuminate the rich texture of life.
    • Enjoy fun activities designed to solidify your understanding of these teachings including cultivating mindfulness in food and diet, creating daily rituals, experimenting with “unplugging” and more!
    • Deepen and refine your Asana, Pranayama, and Meditation practices.

This intensive is ideal for:

    • People looking to bring their yoga practice into all aspects of their lives.
    • Anyone who has ever wondered how the yoga poses got their names and how they relate to the body’s expression.
    • Anyone who wants to deepen their practice before taking our 200-hour yoga teacher training
